Project NIKE was the precursor to the Ajax only. The follow-ons used the same name, but were created by different development processes and organizations. The three missiles, Ajax, Hercules and Zeus, should be primarily covered in their own articles, reducing this one primarily to the origins of the project and a historical overview.
